The Trials of Cato, Dubbed 'The Sex Pistols Of Folk' By Famed Master Engineer, John Davis, Are Set To Play At The Liverpool Philharmonic Music Room
The Trials of Cato, a Welsh-English Folk band that have previously been dubbed 'the Sex Pistols of folk', can be seen - and heard - at the Music Room in Liverpool Philharmonic tomorrow night (the 17th of October 2023).
The Trials of Cato consists of 3 members — Tomos Williams, Robin Jones and Polly Bolton. The trio have enjoyed a triumphant rise in recent years and the show promises plenty of the band’s signature sound and spirit.
With their latest album, 'Gog Magog', released in 2022, are ready to now present their most daring music to date. Dubbed as the ‘Sex Pistols of folk’ by John Davis, the Master Engineer famous for his work with Led Zeppelin, The Killers, Dua Lipa and The Gorillaz to name but a few.
The Trials of Cato where formed in Beirut, Lebanon with the band returning to the UK in 2016 with the aim of performing tirelessly up and own the country, leading to BBC Radio 2’s Mark Radcliffe hailing them as 'one of the real discoveries on the folk circuit in recent times.'

It has been a busy Summer for the band with performances across the globe in countries such as Canada, America, Belgium, France and Germany.
Their debut album, 'Hide and Hair', gained attention in national publications, still receives repeated national airplay on the likes of BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music, and won Best Album at the 2019 'BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards’.
