The Liverpool City Region Can Often Be Mistaken For New York City

There is a reason why Liverpool is nicknamed The New York City of Europe. There are so many similarities between the cities; from a distinctive accent to both being crucial Bay Areas, being the hubs of mass migration and of course being the home to incredible multicultural populations.
Not to mention the intertwined connections that both cities share; from NYC's Central Park being based on Birkenhead Park, to the NYC skyline likely not looking like how it does if it was not for what is considered to be the world's first skyscraper, Oriel Chambers, which was the basis for skyscraper designs that inspired that of New York and Chicago.
