Taron Egerton Dominates The Hollywood Film Industry, Starring In Another Major Motion Picture
The local actor has starred in the gritty retelling of one of the UK's most told stories, Robin Hood. In the reboot that is simply titled 'Robin Hood', the star dons the green suit alongside a renowned cast.
Taron Egerton was born on the 10th November 1989, in Birkenhead in the Wirral Borough of the Liverpool City Region. After having his early childhood in England he moved with his family to Anglesey in Wales where he attended primary school, and continued to move around Wales as he grew up.
The local superstar was born locally in Birkenhead Area of the Liverpool City Region, since then he has moved around, attending primary school in Llanfairpwllgwyngyll on the island of Anglesey, Northern Wales to now starring in Hollywood blockbusters.
The Liverpudlian-Welshman has taken Hollywood by storm; gaining major, lead-character roles in numerous films. From his lead role as Eggsy in the explosive, high-octane Kingsmen film series to the biopic, Rocketman, in which Taron played the role of Sir Elton John.
The film co-stars Jamix Foxx as Little John, the A-List actor is also known for Django Unchained, Ray, White House Down, Collateral and Law Abiding Citizen.
The film also features Ben Mendelsohn as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Taron Egerton's in-film nemesis, who is known for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, The Dark Knight Rises and Ready Player One.
The film takes place after returning home to England, aristocrat Robin of Loxley learns that the evil Sheriff of Nottingham has seized his family estate. He soon joins forces with Friar Tuck and Little John - a fierce Arabian warrior who wants to put an end to the Crusades. Armed with arrows and dubbed Robin Hood, Loxley leads a band of oppressed rebels in a daring plan to rob the Sheriff of his money and take away his power.
The film was released on Friday, 21st September 2018.
Unfortunately the film did not initially make back the money that Lionsgate invested into the project, earning $86.5 Million USD at the Box Office, compared to its $100 Million USD budget to produce.
