The Bronte Youth and Community Centre Break Down on Exciting New Renovation Project

The groundbreaking took place on the 24th of October 2024 and was attended by local residents and representatives from The Bronte.
“The vision for the large-scale refurbishment of the building is to provide a beautiful, open and welcoming space to deliver their Youth and Community Services.” - Mike Hyde of the construction company, Truline.
It marked the beginning of a new chapter in the centre's commitment to youth and community engagement.
Laura Cain, Centre Manager for The Bronte, said: “This really is the stuff of dreams for The Bronte and our Community. Over the years, I watched as my Mum struggled, year after year to raise funds and fight to keep The Bronte alive."
She added: "This renovation work on our building is beyond anything we could have envisaged for The Bronte, and the impact it is going to have on not only our young people and local community, but the wider community, is immeasurable. I am so excited, proud and privileged to be a part of this, and to see The Bronte thrive once again."
The renovation, which will be finished by Spring 2025, is being completed by Truline Construction.

“I’m delighted to see that this is finally happening. Three generations of my family have attended The Bronte – my parents met here and now my own children attend." - Tony Clarke, one of the Board of Trustees for The Bronte Centre.

Getting to work with the club over the years, particularly with Mary [the previous centre manager] has been instrumental in who I am today.”
This project, which has been made possible by a transformational Youth Investment Fund Grant, will revitalise the space, ensuring its services can support many more young people in the future and have its doors remain open for another 50 years.
