Taza Supermarket in Liverpool City Centre will be offering specialities in Turkish, Asian, Middle Eastern and Eastern European Food, 14 new job opportunities, and supporting in the revitalisation of London Road in The Fabric District.

It used to be known as an area dedicated to retail giants and tailoring specialists, but over the last few years London Road has developed a whole host of new sites, and next month will welcome a new supermarket which has its own distinct feel.

Based at the site previously occupied by B&M Stores until January 2020, the new Taza Supermarket will bring retail with an independent approach, which is proving to be distinctly successful in a location which is close to the heart of some of the City’s most noted cultural, leisure and entertainment landmarks.

'We are delighted that we have also been able to redevelop the property, as it is a real boost to the area to have incoming investment. We look forward to becoming a part of the London Road retail community.' - Ahmed Rasool, Director of Taza Supermarket.

Since 2017, there have been determined efforts made by established and incoming retailers to respect the area’s link to clothing and haberdashery commerce, whilst adding more diverse businesses including unique cafes, media and fashion projects.

The new Taza Supermarket is based in a building 16,000 square feet in size, and will specialise in Turkish, Asian, Middle Eastern and Eastern European Food as well as Halal meat.

The Directors have been involved in significant investment in order to update the building and tailor it to their own specifications, and are delighted to announce that the supermarket will be providing 14 employment opportunities, including a mix of both Full-Time and Part-Time roles.

Director of Taza Supermarket, Ahmed Rasool, explains: 'London Road is the perfect place for us to open our Taza Supermarket. Rich in retail history, it is now a zone which encourages and supports independent businesses just like ours.

He added: 'Close to both Universities, the City’s renowned Cultural Quarter and landmarks like The Empire Theatre, it is a place where customers can seek out purchases which offer them a much wider variety than in traditional retailers.'

Ahmed, said: 'We are delighted that we have also been able to redevelop the property, as it is a real boost to the area to have incoming investment. We look forward to becoming a part of the London Road retail community.'

Fellow Director of Taza Supermarket, Zardashi Kadir, added: ‘Retail of any kind is a very challenging sector of the economy right now, and so you have to bring something a little bit different to attract the attention of consumers, who are already well-provided for in terms of well-known, nationally branded outlets. Taza Supermarket has its own unique profile, which is all about attracting customers who want to add to their retail experience.

'Liverpool has such a diverse community, and customers who are always on the lookout for something that offers them a much wider range of choices.' - Zardashi Kadir, Director of Taza Supermarket.

He said: 'Liverpool has such a diverse community, and customers who are always on the lookout for something that offers them a much wider range of choices. We will be providing the highest quality produce across our ranges, and our independent nature means we will be able to get to know our customers well, and react quickly to their feedback, wants and suggestions.'

Zardashi added: 'We are really proud to be offering job opportunities, which is always welcomed in any local economy, and being a part of this iconic shopping district.'

Taza Supermarket will be opening in June 2023.
