Liverpool City Region singer-songwriter, Christy Bellis, is back with her touching, first single of 2023, ‘Lost In The Inbetween’, having released on Friday the 16th of June.

Recorded and produced by Christy and her Father, in their home studio, the track is sonically warm and comforting but is juxtaposed lyrically, by a feeling of uncertainty and doubt. The song reflects on the dilemma shared by a whole generation, who want to escape, explore and dream, but will always have that unbreakable bond with where it all started.

'This feels like the perfect moment to release this track, having felt like I’ve found the place that makes me feel most at home right here in Liverpool.' - Singer-Songwriter, Christy Bellis.

Speaking about the track, Christy, said: ‘I wrote this song, when I moved back home unexpectedly, after living in London for so many years. Writing it was my outlet as I tried to figure out exactly where I wanted to be, grappling between the comforts of home and the pressures of the big city. I’ll always love my hometown, it’s played a huge part in shaping me; but since I was young I’ve always had this gut feeling that it wasn’t my forever place.'

She added: 'This feels like the perfect moment to release this track, having felt like I’ve found the place that makes me feel most at home right here in Liverpool. A city that has the ability to wrap me up in the comforts of home whilst challenging and inspiring me creatively everyday.’

Christy is accompanying the release of 'Lost In The Inbetween' with artwork by Orange Projects (Matt Kyprian), a live music photographer and graphic designer from Runcorn — Christy’s hometown in the Borough of Halton in the Liverpool City Region. She felt it was important to collaborate with a local artist from the place that inspired this song.

Hailing from the booming Liverpool City Region Music Scene, singer-songwriter Christy Bellis is no stranger to the stage. Sonically influenced by 80’s pop and the likes of Marina and Self Esteem, Christy self-produced her 2021 debut EP 'Human Nature' and 2022 single 'This Girl’ at home alongside her Father.

The tracks were backed by local stations including KCC Live and Mersey Radio, with the title track of her EP added to the match-day playlist at Anfield. She's enjoyed a year full of gigs across Liverpool; including her headline show at EBGBS, supporting 80's pop icon Tiffany at Phase One and playing the legendary Jacaranda to celebrate its 64th Birthday. Christy’s true home is up there on the stage, and she can’t wait to play live and share her new music with everyone later this year!
