Liverpool's Pub Invest Group is thrilled to announce its upcoming charity white-collar boxing event, 'Industry Rumble', taking place at Fusion Nightclub on Monday the 31st of March, 2025.

The event strives to be an action-packed night while raising essential funds for Paul’s Place, a bereavement support program under Beacon Counselling Trust.

Paul’s Place provides crucial support for those dealing with bereavement from suicide, offering free specialist therapy, group sessions, and outdoor therapies. In the past year alone, they have received 113 referrals, delivered 1,141 therapeutic sessions, and hosted over 80 holistic group sessions.

By participating, they’re also raising essential funds for our Paul’s Place Bereavement Support Programme at Beacon Counselling Trust, which provides free specialist therapy and support for those bereaved by suicide in Merseyside. Events like these make a vital difference, and we are incredibly grateful for their efforts.” - Andrew Okell, Paul’s Place Community Engagement & Support Lead.

Event Highlights

  • Training Program: Participants, including Pub Invest Group staff, family, and friends, will undergo an 8-week intensive training program starting at the end of January at the Engine Room Gym on Picton Road.

  • Community Involvement: Fighters are sponsored, with all proceeds going directly to Paul’s Place.

  • Entry Donations: Event entry fees are donation-based, encouraging friends, family, and customers to contribute generously.

  • Fundraising on the Night: Additional fundraising activities will take place during the event, with all funds supporting Paul’s Place.

Andrew Okell, Paul’s Place Community Engagement & Support Lead, said: “It’s great to see Pub Invest Group using their well-established boxing event to encourage their team to break barriers and engage in conversations about mental health. By participating, they’re also raising essential funds for our Paul’s Place Bereavement Support Programme at Beacon Counselling Trust, which provides free specialist therapy and support for those bereaved by suicide in Merseyside. Events like these make a vital difference, and we are incredibly grateful for their efforts.”

Philip Gillespie, Pub Invest Group Marketing Manager added: “Mental health awareness and breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health is something close to our hearts here at Pub Invest Group. Paul’s Place does such a fantastic job in Liverpool and we are looking forward to raising as much as possible for the charity while also offering those that take part a chance to spread awareness about the impact of mental health issues as well as potentially offering a space during the training sessions to discuss issues too.

This is an opportunity to make a difference while enjoying a night of thrilling boxing entertainment that is suitable to beginners interested in seeing a match, taking place at Fusion Nightclub. Whether as a sponsor, participant, or attendee, your support directly impacts the lives of those across the Liverpool City Region.
