Super Wok, a Chinese restaurant based on Great Homer Street officially opened on Saturday 13th January, with a performance of the traditional Chinese Lion Dance. Over 70 guests braved the cold weather to open the new restaurant officially.

Super Wok is located in the vibrant heart of Project Jennifer, which was initiated in 2014 to rejuvenate Great Homer Street. The success of the project has transformed the area into a thriving hub. Now, it proudly hosts Liverpool’s oldest street market, Greatie Market, the city’s largest Sainsbury’s store and a significant 80,000 sq ft of contemporary retail space, where Super Wok currently resides.

This 70-seater restaurant is the latest business to open in this bustling retail park at the edge of Liverpool City Centre. Super Wok is excited to bring and share a new addition of Chinese cuisine to the Liverpool scene.

Jimmy Huang and Nikita Li, the owners of Super Wok said: “We would like to thank everyone who came along on Saturday for our official Lion Dance opening. Guests enjoyed samples of our dishes as well as a great performance in true Chinese style.”

Super Wok restaurant has been fitted out with colourful decor and illuminating neon lights. On one side, a large mural takes centre stage, which showcases a trending Chinese art style that is very popular amongst the younger generation. The custom made light display depicts Chinese elements and Liverpool’s iconic feature of Radio City Tower, which can also be seen from outside the restaurant. Within the restaurant, it features a state-of-the-art serving robot, adding to the overall dining experience at Super Wok.

This new Super Wok restaurant is fully licensed and caters for dining on-site as well as off-site takeaway. Jimmy continues: “We serve popular dishes such as Sweet & Sour Chicken, Sesame Prawn Toast, Shredded Crispy Chicken and Beef. Alongside this, we have a variety of dim sum such as Har Gow and Xiaolong Bao, as well as Salt and Pepper dishes that are highly rated within the city. We also offer a range of beverages from wine to cocktails, as well as one of China's favourite premium beers, Tsingtao.”
